Lovely Blackthorn Cottage is a self-catering family cottage with gorgeous panoramic sea and countryside views over our beautiful County Down coastline.
It will sleep 6-8 people very comfortably, making it the perfect base for a group of family or friends. Spacious and cosy, it is well – equipped with everything you would need for a short break – or longer stay.
Set 500 metres off the main road, Blackthorn Cottage provides peace and quiet while still being close to Castle Ward, other National Trust properties, Game of Thrones locations, historical sites, lovely beaches, local restaurants, golf, fishing, walking and water sports.
The cottage has a double room with en-suite and a family suite consisting of a double room on the ground floor with adjacent bathroom and three single beds in a loft room upstairs.
The kitchen/sitting room is large and spacious and, when a number of cottages are let to the one group, provides an ideal venue for all to get together for meals or socialising.
It opens out through double doors to a patio area which, in good weather, can further extend the size of the meeting area. As with our other cottages it is equipped with a wood burning stove – a great focal point on evenings when you want to curl up in front of a warm fire.

A car is advised. The cottages are in rural locations with limited public transport, so please plan your transport before arrival.
