Mill Cottage, a carefully restored corn mill with a blend of original features and modern comforts, is set on a wooded hillside near the County Down coast, close to Castle Ward and Strangford.
One of a clachan or cluster of four houses, this self-catering cottage offers excellent facilities for a relaxing break or a base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. Perfect for families and couples.
Mill Cottage is two miles from the pretty lough-side village of Strangford and 6 miles from the historic town of Downpatrick, making it easy to shop for supplies, enjoy local food, or head out for days around Strangford Lough and the County Down coast.
There is a great choice of outdoor pursuits nearby, including beaches, heritage sites, National Trust properties, walks, cycle trails and outdoor activity centres. Excellent fishing, sailing and golfing are also just a short drive away.
This area has become a centre for film making, so you might choose to visit some of the locations in Castle Ward where Game of Thrones was filmed. Or there’s always the option of cosying up in front of the log fire with a glass of wine and a good book.
